Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Street Maintenance Hand to join our civil projects team in Carnarvon, Western Australia. This is a crucial role responsible for the upkeep and repair of local roads, footpaths, and associated civil infrastructure. You will work on a variety of tasks essential for maintaining safe and functional public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of roads, footpaths, and verges.
- Undertake pothole repairs, crack sealing, and minor asphalt patching.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of road signage and line marking.
- Clear drains, culverts, and other stormwater infrastructure.
- Operate various hand tools and light machinery safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all WHS policies and procedures on site.
- Participate in emergency response as required.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in road maintenance or civil construction.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Current Australian C-Class Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Experience operating civil plant and equipment (e.g., skid steer, roller, excavator).
- First Aid qualification.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) or Medium Rigid (MR) truck license.
