Job Description
Are you passionate about surf culture, the ocean, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts? Rip Curl Europe is seeking a dynamic and friendly Surf Shop Assistant to join our team in Newquay, Cornwall. This casual role is perfect for someone who loves the beach environment, has excellent customer service skills, and is eager to contribute to a vibrant retail space. You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, helping them find the perfect wetsuit, board shorts, or accessories, and sharing your knowledge of the local surf scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and knowledgeable approach, providing exceptional service.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system and handle cash/card payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, including merchandising displays.
- Replenish stock on the sales floor and assist with inventory management.
- Provide expert advice on Rip Curl products, including wetsuits, surfboards, apparel, and accessories.
- Stay informed about local surf conditions, events, and community activities to share with customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, returns, and exchanges efficiently and courteously.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic knowledge of surfing, surf products, and beach culture.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required.
