Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and efficient Stock Picker to join our fast-paced retail warehouse team in Adelaide. This crucial role involves accurately picking and preparing orders for dispatch to Coles supermarkets, ensuring our shelves are always stocked with fresh and essential products. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency within the warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack products according to order sheets, ensuring correct quantities and item codes.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality checks on picked items to identify any damaged or incorrect products.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and cycle counts.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily dispatch targets.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles as required.
- Report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented warehouse environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading order sheets and labels.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures.
- Comfortable working in various temperature controlled environments (e.g., chilled or freezer sections) as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre role.
- Experience operating a pallet jack or similar material handling equipment.
- Current forklift licence (though not essential for this specific role, it is a plus for future opportunities).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
