Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Skip Bin Sorter to join our team in Springwood. This vital role involves the efficient sorting and processing of waste materials from skip bins, ensuring that recyclable materials are separated and prepared for further processing, while non-recyclable items are disposed of correctly. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to our mission of resource recovery and environmental protection. This position offers high pay for individuals committed to safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort various materials from skip bins, including plastics, metals, paper, cardboard, timber, and general waste.
- Identify and separate recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste.
- Operate sorting equipment and machinery as required, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all site cleanliness standards.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with other general site duties as directed by the site supervisor.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
- Ability to identify different types of waste materials quickly and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a waste management, recycling, or similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with waste sorting techniques and equipment.
- Current forklift license (desirable but not essential).
