Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart a career in construction with a focus on scaffolding? Fairbrother is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Scaffolder’s Assistant to join our team in Burnie. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn the trade, work at heights, and contribute to significant construction projects. You will work closely with experienced scaffolders, learning the ropes and assisting in the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures. If you’re physically fit, have a strong work ethic, and are committed to safety, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified scaffolders with the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of various scaffolding systems.
  • Handle, move, and organize scaffolding materials and components.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and stored correctly.
  • Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, company policies, and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Undertake general labouring duties as required to support project operations.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Learn and apply best practices for working at heights and manual handling.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various work environments.
  • White Card (Construction Induction Card) – essential for site access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction labouring role.
  • Basic understanding of tools and construction equipment.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable).
