Job Description
Join Nutrien Ag Solutions in Swan Hill as a Rural Store Assistant. This ongoing full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about agriculture and eager to provide excellent service to local farmers. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our store, ensuring our customers have access to the products and support they need to thrive. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you can learn, grow, and contribute directly to the success of the agricultural community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with product inquiries, sales, and order processing, providing friendly and efficient service.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked store, including merchandising, shelf replenishment, and stock rotation.
- Receive, unload, and manage incoming inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper storage.
- Operate point-of-sale systems, handling cash and card transactions with accuracy.
- Provide product information and basic advice on farming supplies, animal health, and general agronomy.
- Assist with general store maintenance, cleanliness, and ensuring a safe shopping environment.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) regularly.
- Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
- A genuine interest in agriculture, farming practices, or rural industries.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, rural merchandise, or agricultural environment.
- Basic knowledge of farming supplies, animal health products, or general crop/livestock needs.
- Current forklift license.
