Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Renewable Energy Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector, with a specific focus on solar and wind farm projects. You will support our project development and operational teams, contributing to various stages of project lifecycles. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about clean energy and looking to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and analysis of potential solar and wind farm sites, including resource assessment and feasibility studies.
- Support the project development team with data collection, report generation, and presentation preparation.
- Contribute to the review of technical documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance for renewable energy projects.
- Participate in site visits to existing or prospective solar and wind farms, observing operational processes and construction phases.
- Help maintain project databases and documentation systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers on various tasks, learning about project management methodologies specific to renewable energy.
- Conduct market research on renewable energy technologies, policies, and industry trends.
- Support community engagement initiatives related to new project developments.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental), Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Strong academic record and genuine interest in renewable energy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous exposure or coursework related to solar PV, wind energy, or battery storage technologies.
- Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) or CAD tools.
- Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Understanding of the Australian energy market and regulatory landscape.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
