Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Medical Typist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to vital healthcare operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, patient notes, and other healthcare-related documents. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, summaries, office notes, and other medical documents quickly and accurately.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for clarity, grammar, spelling, and consistency.
- Verify patient information and medical terms for accuracy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient records and sensitive information.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA compliance (or local equivalent) and data security protocols.
- Manage transcription workflow efficiently to meet daily productivity goals and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding workload, challenges, and progress.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a medical typist or transcriptionist (minimum 2 years).
- Expert knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 70 WPM).
- Proficiency with transcription software and general office applications.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in medical transcription (e.g., AHDI CMT/RMT).
- Experience with various medical specialties (e.g., cardiology, oncology, radiology).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of South African healthcare regulations and data privacy laws.
