Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Remote IT Specialist to join our dynamic team. This 100% remote position will be responsible for providing comprehensive network and software support to our internal users and systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our technology services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both network administration and software troubleshooting, with excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for network, hardware, and software issues, remotely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and other software.
- Diagnose and resolve software conflicts, performance issues, and user account problems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Document technical solutions, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Educate users on IT best practices and system usage.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical support as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic networking concepts.
- Experience with remote desktop technologies and support tools.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software applications and system errors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
- Experience supporting collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom).
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
