Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Product Developer to join our Consumer Electronics team in Port Hedland, Western Australia. In this role, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end development cycle of our next generation of consumer electronic products, from initial concept to market launch. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, marketing, and sales to ensure our products meet market demands, consumer expectations, and uphold Samsung’s reputation for quality and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven individual with a strong understanding of product lifecycle management and a keen eye for consumer trends in the electronics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new consumer electronics products, from ideation and concept generation through to production and launch.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify new product opportunities and emerging trends.
- Define product specifications, features, and user experience requirements based on market insights and strategic goals.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and design teams to translate concepts into viable product designs.
- Manage the product development timeline, budget, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within cost.
- Oversee product testing, quality assurance, and certification processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work with marketing and sales teams to develop launch strategies, product positioning, and compelling go-to-market plans.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, gather user feedback, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and future iterations.
- Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and external suppliers or partners.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development within the consumer electronics industry.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing new products to market.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and development methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) and other design tools.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze market data, consumer insights, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Australian consumer electronics market regulations and standards.
- Experience in working with international manufacturing partners and supply chains.
- Understanding of material science and manufacturing processes relevant to electronics.
