Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Night Porter to join our team at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a quiet, independent work environment and appreciates the premium rates associated with night shifts. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests during the overnight hours, handling late check-ins/early check-outs, and performing various hotel operations to prepare for the day ahead. Key Responsibilities
- Manage late-night guest arrivals and early morning departures efficiently and courteously.
- Conduct regular security checks and patrols of the hotel premises to ensure guest safety and property security.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, and emergencies during night hours.
- Prepare the hotel for the morning shift, including setting up breakfast areas or preparing reports.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as reconciling daily accounts and updating guest records.
- Handle minor maintenance issues or escalate significant problems to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of public areas during quiet periods.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with hotel management systems (e.g., Opera PMS) is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment, particularly in a night audit or porter role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local area attractions and services in Coffs Harbour.
- Experience with security procedures and protocols.
