Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Linguistic Analyst to join our dynamic team in Parramatta. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the linguistic quality and understanding of our various products and services. You will analyze language data, identify patterns, and provide critical insights to improve natural language processing (NLP) models, search algorithms, and user experiences. This position requires a strong understanding of linguistic principles, keen analytical abilities, and a passion for technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets of linguistic information to identify patterns, errors, and opportunities for improvement in NLP models.
- Develop and refine linguistic guidelines and annotation schemes for various language tasks.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of annotated data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Provide linguistic expertise and support to product development teams, offering insights into language-specific challenges.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to test and evaluate the performance of language-related features.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in linguistics, NLP, and AI to inform best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and processes for linguistic data analysis.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
- Proven experience in linguistic data analysis and annotation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for data manipulation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics.
- Experience with machine learning concepts and NLP tools/frameworks.
- Familiarity with large language models and their applications.
- Experience in technical writing or documentation.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
