Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic and hardworking individual looking for an active and rewarding role outdoors? Turfco is seeking a dedicated Turf Farm Hand to join our dynamic team in Wollongong. This full-time position offers ongoing shifts and the opportunity to contribute to the growth and maintenance of our high-quality turf products. You will be involved in various aspects of farm operations, ensuring our turf meets the highest standards before it reaches our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the planting, irrigation, and harvesting of various turf varieties.
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery such as tractors, mowers, and forklifts (training provided if necessary).
- Performing general farm duties including weeding, fertilising, and pest control.
- Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of farm areas and equipment.
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Participating in turf quality control checks and preparing turf for delivery.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or a willingness to learn.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in farming, horticulture, or a similar outdoor labour role.
- Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, forklifts).
- Chemical user certificate (ACUP or equivalent).
- First Aid certification.
