Job Description
Are you a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for retail operations? Tesco is seeking an Inventory Analyst Intern to join our dynamic team in Ipswich. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment. You will support our inventory management strategies, contributing to efficient stock flow and optimal product availability across our stores. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting inventory data to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Support the development and implementation of inventory management best practices.
- Help monitor stock levels, sales forecasts, and replenishment cycles to optimize product availability.
- Collaborate with store teams and supply chain departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Prepare reports and presentations on inventory performance and key metrics for management review.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects related to stock control, waste reduction, and process improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- A strong interest in retail operations and supply chain management.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (even part-time or voluntary) in a retail environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis principles.
