Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Sparky to join our dynamic team on a Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) basis. This role involves critical electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation across our extensive mining and resource projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, processing plants, and associated infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults in heavy mining equipment, processing plants, and fixed infrastructure.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical installations in compliance with Australian Standards and company procedures.
- Conduct hazardous area inspections and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety protocols, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to optimise electrical systems performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Required Skills
- Australian Electrician's Licence (or equivalent recognised in Australia)
- Demonstrated experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably within the mining, heavy industry, or resource sector
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical control systems, PLCs, VSDs, and motor control circuits
- Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS 3000) and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
Preferred Qualifications
- High Voltage Switching Operations certificate
- Experience with specific mining equipment brands (e.g., Cat, Komatsu)
- Instrumentation and Control trade qualification
- Dual trade qualification
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets
