Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and hands-on Hotel Maintenance Helper to join our team at Quest Shepparton. This casual, part-time role involves assisting with various maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation and excellent presentation of our property. You will be responsible for general repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests, all while maintaining a safe and clean environment for our guests and staff. This role offers varied day shifts, providing flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance staff with general repairs and maintenance tasks across the property.
- Perform routine checks on equipment, fixtures, and fittings, reporting any issues.
- Conduct minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs under supervision.
- Support in painting, plastering, and general upkeep of guest rooms and common areas.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including light gardening and outdoor clean-up.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities as required.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of general maintenance practices.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid Australian driver's license preferred (useful for errands).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance or handy-person role, particularly in a hotel or residential setting.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
- First Aid certification.
- OHS White Card (General Construction Induction Training).
