Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Home Inspector to join our Manchester team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-purchase property inspections for a diverse range of residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential issues, assessing property conditions, and preparing detailed, comprehensive reports that empower our clients to make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed visual inspections of residential and commercial properties, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Identify potential defects, safety hazards, and areas of concern, utilizing advanced tools and equipment.
- Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive inspection reports with photographic evidence and detailed findings.
- Communicate findings effectively to clients, providing clear explanations and actionable recommendations.
- Adhere strictly to industry standards, relevant building codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain professional development by staying updated on the latest building codes, inspection best practices, and technological advancements.
- Manage scheduling and coordination of inspections efficiently to meet client deadlines.
Required Skills
- Certified Home Inspector qualification (e.g., RICS, RPSA, SAVA accreditation preferred).
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in conducting pre-purchase property inspections.
- In-depth knowledge of building construction, components, and systems across various property types.
- Strong understanding of relevant building codes, safety regulations, and property standards in the UK.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
- Proficiency in utilizing inspection software and generating detailed, professional reports.
- Valid UK driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits across the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced inspection technologies, such as thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters.
- A background in construction, architecture, or civil engineering.
- Membership in a professional inspection association or similar industry body.
- Familiarity with the specific nuances and property types prevalent in the Manchester and Greater Manchester area.
