Job Description

Are you passionate about education and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic primary school setting? The International School Cologne (ISC) is seeking a motivated Education Assistant Intern to support our dedicated primary school teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to observe and participate in classroom activities, assist with educational tasks, and develop valuable skills in international education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist primary school teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson preparation.
  • Support students individually or in small groups under teacher supervision.
  • Help organize learning materials and maintain an orderly classroom environment.
  • Observe teaching methods and classroom management strategies.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to teachers, such as photocopying or filing.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for education and working with young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an education, psychology, or related degree program.
  • Previous experience (volunteer or paid) working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of an additional language, especially German.
  • Familiarity with international curricula.
