Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible part-time role with easy tasks in Byron Bay? Australia Post is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Direct Mail Sorter for day shifts. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who enjoys a structured environment and can work efficiently. You will be responsible for sorting various types of mail and parcels, ensuring they are directed to the correct locations, and assisting with general mailroom duties. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a supportive team. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort incoming and outgoing mail, letters, and packages based on specific criteria.
- Operate mail sorting equipment accurately after training.
- Organise mail into designated bins, trays, or sacks for distribution.
- Perform quality checks to ensure mail is sorted correctly and securely.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Assist with other general mailroom duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg (33 lbs).
- Basic literacy skills to read addresses and sorting codes.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a mailroom, warehouse, or logistics environment is a plus, but not essential.
- Current Australian driver's license.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
