Job Description

Are you a meticulous data analyst with a passion for optimizing supply chains in a fast-paced retail environment? Coles Supermarkets is seeking a talented Demand Forecasting Analyst to join our team in Shepparton. In this critical role, you will be responsible for analyzing sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to develop accurate demand forecasts for a wide range of products. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve demand forecasts using advanced statistical models and forecasting software.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional impacts, and seasonal variations to enhance forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, supply chain, and store operations teams to gather insights and align on forecasting assumptions.
  • Monitor forecast performance against actual sales and identify root causes for significant variances.
  • Provide regular reports and insights on forecasting accuracy and inventory health to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of forecasting processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Manage data integrity within forecasting systems and databases.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in demand forecasting or supply chain analytics, preferably within a large-scale retail or FMCG environment.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and forecasting techniques (e.g., ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
  • Experience with forecasting software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA/Blue Yonder, SAS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and retail operations.
