Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Day Shift Site Hand to join our team on a casual basis for an ongoing infrastructure project in Werribee. This role is ideal for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to maintaining a safe work environment. As a Site Hand, you will provide essential support to our construction teams, ensuring sites run smoothly and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a leading contractor and contribute to a significant community project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespersons and other site personnel with various tasks, including material handling, site preparation, and general labor.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, including waste management and equipment storage.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Support the movement of materials and equipment around the site safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and adhere to all site-specific safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform general site cleanup duties and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and site management to complete tasks effectively.

Required Skills

  • Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable transport to and from the Werribee site.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of construction site operations and safety protocols.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and environments.
