Job Description

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in the trades with no prior experience required? Carpet Call is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Carpet Installer Assistant to join our growing team in Campbelltown. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the ropes of professional carpet installation. You will work alongside experienced installers, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of carpet fitting, repair, and maintenance. This is an indoor work role, primarily within residential and commercial properties, ensuring a comfortable working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the preparation of installation sites, including moving furniture and removing old flooring.
  • Learn and perform basic carpet cutting, stretching, and seaming techniques under supervision.
  • Handle and transport carpet rolls and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after installations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines meticulously.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Assist with minor repairs and adjustments as directed.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (e.g., carpet rolls).
  • Strong work ethic and punctuality.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and take direction.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Campbelltown depot/job sites.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and angles (willingness to learn more).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role or general labour.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools.
