Job Description
Are you looking to start a rewarding career in the trades with no prior experience required? Carpet Call is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Carpet Installer Assistant to join our growing team in Campbelltown. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the ropes of professional carpet installation. You will work alongside experienced installers, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of carpet fitting, repair, and maintenance. This is an indoor work role, primarily within residential and commercial properties, ensuring a comfortable working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the preparation of installation sites, including moving furniture and removing old flooring.
- Learn and perform basic carpet cutting, stretching, and seaming techniques under supervision.
- Handle and transport carpet rolls and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after installations.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines meticulously.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Assist with minor repairs and adjustments as directed.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (e.g., carpet rolls).
- Strong work ethic and punctuality.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and take direction.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Campbelltown depot/job sites.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles (willingness to learn more).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or general labour.
- Valid driver's license.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
