Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and physically capable individuals to join our team as Baggage Porters for casual day shifts at Karratha Airport. This vital role involves assisting passengers with their luggage, ensuring efficient movement of baggage, and contributing to a positive airport experience. You will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced airport environment, requiring attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently handle passenger luggage, including loading and unloading from trolleys and conveyor belts.
- Assist passengers with special baggage requirements and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate airport equipment such as baggage trolleys and tugs (with appropriate training and licensing).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage handling areas.
- Adhere to all airport safety and security regulations and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, airline staff, and passengers.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliability and punctuality for casual shifts.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical customer service role.
- Current valid Australian driver's license.
- First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with airport operations or aviation industry.
