Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Back-End Developer with strong expertise in Java and Go to join our distributed innovation hub. This is a fully remote role where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance services that power Atlassian’s next-generation products. You will work within an agile environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure back-end services and APIs using Java and Go.
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features and functionalities.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring high quality through code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, troubleshooting and debugging production issues as they arise.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team and broader engineering community.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our development processes and tools.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in back-end development.
- Proven expertise in Java (Spring Boot framework highly preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) for building high-performance services.
- Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) to facilitate better collaboration with front-end teams.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
