Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Technician specializing in Avionics to join our dynamic team in Liverpool. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge aviation projects, contributing to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of advanced aircraft systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of our fleet, upholding the highest standards of safety and quality within the aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex aircraft avionics systems, including navigation, communication, flight control, and radar systems.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and modifications in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical publications to resolve system malfunctions.
  • Utilize specialized test equipment to verify system functionality and calibration.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and discrepancies noted.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on system performance and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in continuous training and development to stay current with evolving avionics technology and regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Technician with a specialization in Avionics.
  • Hold relevant EASA Part-66 B2 or equivalent national aviation authority licenses/certifications.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and test equipment for avionics systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific aircraft types relevant to BAE Systems' operations (e.g., military aircraft, complex commercial platforms).
  • Familiarity with avionic system integration and software loading procedures.
  • Previous experience working in a military or commercial MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environment.
  • Additional training or certifications in specialized avionics equipment or technologies.
