Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate AHPRA Endorsed Nurse to join our specialist clinic in Ballarat. This is a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting a variety of specialist medical practitioners and playing a crucial role in patient care coordination and delivery. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring a high standard of clinical practice, patient education, and administrative support within a high-reward setting that values your expertise and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in accordance with AHPRA guidelines and St John of God Health Care policies.
- Assist specialist medical practitioners during consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
- Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and perform wound care as required.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic health systems.
- Manage clinic flow, schedule appointments, and coordinate patient referrals and follow-ups.
- Ensure the clinic environment is well-stocked, clean, and compliant with infection control standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Demonstrated experience of at least 12 months in a clinic or hospital setting, preferably with some exposure to specialist services.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency in medical record keeping and electronic health systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualifications or advanced training in a specialty area relevant to clinic services (e.g., dermatology, cardiology, gastroenterology).
- Experience with specific clinic management software.
- Competency in phlebotomy and cannulation.
- BLS/ALS certification.
