Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Assistant to join our thriving Professional Accounting team in Royal Leamington Spa. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a career in taxation within a supportive and dynamic environment. You will work closely with experienced tax professionals, providing crucial support in managing client tax affairs, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the efficient delivery of our tax services. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Support the team in managing client tax computations and filings.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Communicate with clients, HMRC, and other external parties under supervision.
  • Conduct basic tax research and analysis to support advice given to clients.
  • Process tax-related correspondence and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the tax compliance cycle.
  • Contribute to various ad-hoc projects as required by the tax department.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A foundational understanding of accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (e.g., internship) in an accounting or tax environment.
  • An interest in pursuing professional tax qualifications (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACCA, ACA).
