Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Infrastructure Tech to join our dynamic team. This critical role involves the maintenance, repair, and installation of water infrastructure assets across our service region. You will play a vital part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water supply and wastewater systems, directly impacting the health and safety of thousands of residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of water mains, pipes, pumps, valves, hydrants, and other related infrastructure.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in water infrastructure systems.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs for water main breaks, leaks, and service disruptions.
  • Assist with the installation of new water infrastructure components and systems.
  • Conduct water quality sampling and testing as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in civil construction, plumbing, or water utility operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License (manual transmission).
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental protection.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Water Industry Operations or a related field.
  • Experience with GIS mapping systems.
  • Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications.
  • HR (Heavy Rigid) Truck License.
  • First Aid certification.
