Job Description

This pivotal role supports the Community Corrections team in Carnarvon, ensuring the effective administration and delivery of justice services. You will be instrumental in managing caseloads, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with various stakeholders to support offenders’ rehabilitation and reintegration into the community, thereby contributing to public safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Community Corrections Officers, including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic and physical client records in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with court orders and community-based sentences.
  • Liaise with clients, external agencies, and internal departments to facilitate service delivery and information exchange.
  • Process applications, assessments, and other documentation related to community corrections programs.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure environment for staff and clients, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of natural justice and offender management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a legal, justice, or community services environment.
  • Knowledge of the Western Australian criminal justice system.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Certificate IV or Diploma in Legal Services, Community Services, or similar).
