Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and energetic Freight Handlers to join our evening shift team in Toowoomba. In this fast-paced environment, you will be crucial to the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely loading, unloading, and sorting of freight. This role requires excellent physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload freight by hand and with equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Sort and stage freight according to destination and shipping requirements.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently (training provided if needed).
- Inspect freight for damage and accurately record discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, complying with all workplace health and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operational flow during the evening shift.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to security and dangerous goods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly and comfortably.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a busy environment.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading manifests and labels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or freight handling role.
- Current forklift license (LF class).
- Experience operating various material handling equipment.
