Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong specialisation in Xero to join our team in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This is a part-time role offering flexible hours, perfect for a professional looking for a work-life balance while contributing to the financial success of diverse local businesses. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing various financial reports using Xero. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our clients’ accounting needs and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Xero.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and provide financial insights.
- Assist with end-of-month and year-end close procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally with a minimum of 3 years.
- Expert-level proficiency with Xero accounting software.
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client portfolios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- Xero Advisor Certification or similar Xero certifications.
- Experience with other accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks).
- Previous experience working in an accounting firm or a multi-client environment.
