Job Description
Premier Press is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bindery Hand for part-time day shifts. This manual position is critical to our production process, involving the finishing stages of printed materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various bindery equipment, ensuring the quality and accuracy of products, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, stitchers, and laminators.
- Perform manual tasks including counting, collating, stacking, packing, and boxing printed materials.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and company standards.
- Load and unload materials from machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in general bindery duties as needed.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report larger problems to supervisors.
- Follow job instructions and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Required Skills
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of measurements and counting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bindery, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Familiarity with print finishing processes.
- Experience operating bindery equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
