Job Description
Are you ready to sprinkle some joy this summer? Gelatissimo Fortitude Valley is seeking enthusiastic and friendly Ice Cream Servers to join our team for the bustling holiday season. This ‘Sweet Job’ is perfect for individuals looking for temporary work during their summer break, offering a fun and dynamic environment where you’ll serve delicious gelato to happy customers. You’ll be the face of our brand, ensuring every visitor leaves with a smile and a scoop (or two!). If you love people, have a positive attitude, and are available to work flexible hours over the summer, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service with a friendly attitude.
- Scoop and serve a wide variety of gelato flavours, sundaes, and shakes accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash and process payments using our POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the serving area, equipment, and store.
- Restock display cases, toppings, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing duties of the store.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues professionally.
- Adhere to all food safety and health regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for cash handling.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and reliable work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight (e.g., gelato tubs).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, throughout the summer period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or retail is a plus but not essential.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
