Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk Management Assistant to join our team in Launceston. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the robust risk framework of a leading insurance provider. You will support the Risk Management team in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on various risks across the business, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of risk data.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and awareness training sessions for business units.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk registers and documentation.
  • Conduct research on emerging risks and regulatory changes impacting the insurance industry.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure risk mitigation strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Provide administrative support to the broader Risk Management function.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of risk management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience (internship or entry-level) in a financial services or insurance environment.
  • Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools.
  • Certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM) or willingness to pursue.
