Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our esteemed litigation team in Broome. You will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals in managing a diverse range of litigation matters, ensuring efficient and effective case progression. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist legal practitioners with all phases of the litigation process, from inception through to discovery, trial, and appeal.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, subpoenas, affidavits, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research using various databases and resources to support case strategies.
  • Manage and organize complex case files, including electronic document management and review.
  • Coordinate discovery efforts, including preparing discovery requests and responses.
  • Liaise with clients, external counsel, court staff, and other parties as required.
  • Prepare trial binders and assist with trial preparation.
  • Maintain calendars, track deadlines, and schedule appointments for legal practitioners.
  • Assist with billing and administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a litigation context.
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures and court rules.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Leap, Actionstep).
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery platforms.
  • Previous experience in personal injury, class action, or commercial litigation.
