Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Manager to join our vibrant team in Whyalla. This role is perfect for a creative and detail-oriented professional passionate about bringing brand stories to life through impactful events. You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and post-event analysis of a diverse portfolio of events for our clients, ranging from product launches and corporate gatherings to experiential activations and community engagement initiatives. This dynamic role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on project management, and a flair for creating unforgettable experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of client events from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and budget.
- Develop detailed event proposals, timelines, budgets, and post-event reports.
- Identify, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of vendors and suppliers (venues, caterers, AV, entertainment, etc.) to secure competitive rates and quality services.
- Manage event logistics, including registrations, attendee communication, on-site coordination, and breakdown.
- Oversee event marketing and promotion strategies in collaboration with the wider agency team.
- Conduct site inspections and pre-event briefings, ensuring all operational aspects are meticulously planned.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements for all events.
- Provide exceptional client service, maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout the event lifecycle.
- Evaluate event success through KPIs and feedback, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in event management, preferably within an agency or corporate environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple events simultaneously, from small-scale meetings to large-scale activations.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Proficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
- Experience working with a diverse client portfolio across various industries.
- Familiarity with regional event venues and suppliers in South Australia.
- Certification in event management (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
