Job Description
Elders Rural Services, a cornerstone of Australian agribusiness, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Weed Control Hands to join our team in Katherine, Northern Territory. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual removal of weeds using hand tools (hoes, secateurs, etc.).
- Operate basic machinery for weed control, such as brush cutters or small spray units, if qualified and instructed.
- Assist with the accurate mixing and application of herbicides according to strict safety guidelines and supervisor instructions (requires relevant certification or direct supervision).
- Identify different weed species and report observations or issues to supervisors.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and chemical handling protocols.
- Work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a small team.
- Undertake general site clean-up and maintenance as required.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current C-class driver's license and reliable transportation.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) for working on various sites.
- Chemical Users Accreditation or ACDC (Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control) certificate.
- Ability to identify common weed species prevalent in the Northern Territory.
