Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Brand Protection Specialist – Corporate to join our dedicated team in Fremantle. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding Woolworths Group’s valuable intellectual property, brand reputation, and customer trust. You will work within a dynamic corporate environment, focusing on identifying, investigating, and mitigating threats such as counterfeiting, grey market activities, online infringement, and other forms of brand abuse across various channels. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including legal teams, law enforcement, and technology providers. You will contribute to developing and implementing comprehensive brand protection strategies to ensure the integrity of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor online and offline channels for potential brand infringements, including counterfeit products, unauthorized sales, and misleading advertising.
- Conduct thorough investigations into reported brand abuse incidents, gathering evidence and preparing case files.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to initiate enforcement actions, including takedowns, cease and desist letters, and litigation support.
- Manage relationships with external brand protection vendors, technology partners, and law enforcement agencies.
- Develop and implement proactive strategies to prevent brand infringement and educate internal teams on brand protection best practices.
- Analyze brand protection data and trends to identify emerging threats and inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports on brand protection activities, outcomes, and recommendations for senior management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of brand protection policies, procedures, and tools.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in brand protection, intellectual property enforcement, or corporate investigations.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations, particularly trademark and copyright.
- Proficiency in conducting online research and utilizing brand monitoring tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Criminology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with large-scale retail or consumer goods brands.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and social media monitoring techniques.
- Project management skills and experience managing external vendors.
- Certification in fraud examination or investigation.
