Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Civil Construction Hands to join our dynamic team in Gympie, QLD, for an urgent project. This is a high-pay opportunity for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess a strong work ethic. You will be instrumental in supporting various civil construction activities, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. We need individuals who can start immediately and contribute positively to our site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople and operators with various civil construction tasks.
- Perform manual labour duties, including digging, shovelling, and lifting.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organised work site, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of construction sites.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and team leaders accurately.
- Conduct site clean-up and waste removal.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to supervision.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 12 months experience in civil construction or a similar labouring role.
- Valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Commitment to punctuality and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current HR or HC driver's license.
- Experience operating small plant equipment (e.g., compaction rollers, skid steers).
- First Aid certification.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
