Job Description

Are you looking for an immediate start in an active, outdoor role? Jim’s Fencing in Campbellfield is seeking a motivated and reliable Pool Fence Installer Assistant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to learn a trade, work outdoors, and contribute to ensuring pool safety across Melbourne. You’ll work alongside experienced installers, learning the ropes of fence installation, site preparation, and material handling. No prior experience is required – just a willingness to work hard, learn, and be part of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior installers with the assembly and installation of various pool fencing types (e.g., glass, aluminum, steel).
  • Prepare work sites, including digging post holes, clearing debris, and ensuring proper measurements.
  • Handle and transport materials safely and efficiently.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on site.
  • Assist with client interaction, answering basic questions, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Learn and apply best practices for quality installation and compliance with pool safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 25kg) and perform manual labor.
  • Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment, enduring various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or outdoor labor roles (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • White Card (Construction Induction Card) – will assist successful candidate in obtaining if not held.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
