Job Description
Cleanaway is seeking a dedicated and reliable Green Waste Sorter to join our team at our Tuggerah facility. This is an essential outdoor role that plays a crucial part in our waste processing operations, ensuring green waste is efficiently sorted for composting and recycling. You will be working in an active environment, contributing directly to environmental sustainability. This role offers weekly pay and an opportunity to be part of a leading Australian company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort green waste materials on a picking line or designated area.
- Identify and remove contaminants (e.g., plastics, metals, general rubbish) from green waste streams.
- Operate small machinery or equipment if trained (e.g., leaf blower, small loader – if applicable and trained).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist with general site clean-up and maintenance tasks as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily sorting targets.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying different waste types.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management, landscaping, or a similar outdoor labour role.
- Forklift license (LF class) desirable but not essential.
- Basic understanding of waste separation and recycling principles.
