Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WFH Legal Transcriptionist to join our dynamic team. This is a remote, full-time position requiring exceptional typing speed, meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of legal terminology and procedures. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing a variety of legal audio content, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently transcribe legal proceedings, dictations, and other audio content.
- Proofread and edit all transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and precise legal terminology.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all sensitive legal information and client data.
- Manage transcription workflow independently to meet established deadlines and turnaround times.
- Utilize various transcription software and legal databases effectively.
- Adhere strictly to specific client formatting and style guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with legal professionals and team members as required.
Required Skills
- Exceptional typing speed (80+ WPM with high accuracy).
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in legal transcription.
- Strong knowledge of Australian legal terminology, processes, and court procedures.
- Impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Proficiency in transcription software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or Legal Transcription.
- Experience with specific legal case management systems.
- Advanced certification in typing or transcription.
- Familiarity with digital dictation platforms.
