Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our team in Brisbane. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our distribution network, and preventing stock discrepancies. This position requires a high level of accuracy, proficiency with inventory management systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment across various shifts. Please note, this role focuses on internal inventory processes and does not involve direct customer phone interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies by investigating variances and making necessary adjustments.
- Accurately update inventory management systems (IMS) with incoming and outgoing stock movements.
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Generate and distribute regular inventory reports to management.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all warehouse inventory.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations and purchasing teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and inventory control policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with inventory management software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items as required by warehouse duties.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an inventory control, warehouse, or retail logistics role.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and warehouse operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
