Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sustainability Intern to join our Corporate ESG Reporting team in Hobart. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving field of corporate sustainability, with a specific focus on ESG reporting frameworks and data analysis. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to projects that help our clients understand, measure, and report on their sustainability performance, aligning with global standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research and analysis of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and emerging sustainability trends.
  • Support the collection, verification, and analysis of ESG data from various client sources.
  • Contribute to the drafting and review of ESG reports, disclosures, and presentations.
  • Participate in client meetings and workshops, helping to capture requirements and disseminate information.
  • Conduct literature reviews and desktop research on specific sustainability topics relevant to client engagements.
  • Assist with internal sustainability initiatives and knowledge sharing within the Deloitte team.
  • Learn to identify data gaps and support the development of recommendations for data collection improvements.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate sustainability, ESG, and responsible business practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous coursework or projects related to corporate social responsibility, environmental management, or sustainable development.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience with database management or statistical software.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise summaries.
