Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and enthusiastic Au Pair or Live-in Nanny to join a welcoming family in the Fremantle area (and other regions across Australia through our network). This unique opportunity offers full room and board in exchange for childcare and light household duties. This role is ideal for someone looking to immerse themselves in Australian culture, gain valuable childcare experience, and become a cherished member of a family. You will provide daily support with children’s routines, activities, and general family life, enjoying a supportive environment and the chance to explore a new city and country.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and engaging childcare for children, adapting to their specific needs and age group.
- Assist with morning and evening routines, including waking, dressing, bathing, and meal times.
- Organize and participate in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Assist with light household chores related to children, such as tidying play areas, children's laundry, and keeping children's rooms clean.
- Supervise children during playtime, outings, and educational activities.
- Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding children's development and daily activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable experience with children (babysitting, volunteering, previous au pair roles, etc.).
- Genuine love for children and a patient, caring demeanor.
- Reliable, responsible, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a new family environment and cultural norms.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain it.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license (international or Australian) and a clean driving record.
- Relevant certifications in childcare or early childhood education.
- Previous experience as an Au Pair or Nanny.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a bonus.
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one upon arrival).
