Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Due Diligence Investigator to join our dynamic legal team. This pivotal role involves conducting thorough investigations and research to support our clients’ transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other legal processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying potential risks, liabilities, and compliance issues, providing comprehensive reports, and ensuring all findings are accurate and well-documented. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent research skills, and a solid understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence investigations for various legal transactions, including M&A, real estate, and corporate financing.
- Perform in-depth research on target companies, individuals, assets, and regulatory compliance using public records, databases, and other sources.
- Analyze financial statements, contracts, corporate documents, litigation records, and other relevant information.
- Identify and assess potential legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks.
- Prepare detailed, clear, and concise due diligence reports summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with legal counsel, clients, and external advisors to address specific investigation needs.
- Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all sensitive information.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in due diligence.
- Assist in the development and improvement of due diligence processes and methodologies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in due diligence, legal research, financial analysis, or a related investigative role.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic (French is a strong asset).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFE, ACAMS).
- Experience working within a legal firm or financial institution.
- Familiarity with Moroccan legal and regulatory environment.
- Experience with legal research databases and compliance software.
- Knowledge of corporate governance, anti-money laundering (AML), and know-your-client (KYC) regulations.
