Job Description
Are you a motivated pharmacy student looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a dynamic retail pharmacy environment? Boots UK in Sale is offering a paid student placement designed to give you practical exposure to daily pharmacy operations, customer service, and healthcare delivery. This placement will immerse you in the heart of community pharmacy, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting, develop essential professional skills, and contribute to the well-being of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with dispensing prescriptions and managing medication stock.
- Provide excellent customer service, including handling inquiries and advising on over-the-counter products.
- Support the general operation of the pharmacy, ensuring a tidy and organized environment.
- Learn about various pharmacy services, including health screenings and patient consultations.
- Participate in inventory management and ordering processes.
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Shadow qualified pharmacists to observe clinical decision-making and patient care.
- Contribute to health promotion initiatives within the store.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a MPharm degree program (or equivalent, as per GPhC requirements).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
