Are you a passionate animal lover looking to start your career in animal care? Armidale Pet Haven & Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kennel Hand to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior professional experience, offering comprehensive on-the-job training. You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all animals in our care, assisting with their daily needs and ensuring their welfare. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, animal enclosures, and common areas daily.
- Provide fresh food and water to animals according to schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
- Assist with exercising and socializing animals as directed.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
- Handle animals gently and safely, ensuring their comfort and minimizing stress.
- Laundry and cleaning of animal bedding and towels.
- Assist with receiving and settling new animal arrivals.
Required Skills

- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail regarding cleanliness and animal welfare.
