Job Description
Are you passionate about events and looking to kick-start your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Crown Resorts is seeking a motivated Junior Event Intern to join our Conference & Venue team in Southbank. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of conferences, corporate events, and venue operations. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the seamless delivery of world-class events and learning the intricacies of large-scale venue management. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual eager to learn and contribute to a leading hospitality and entertainment brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of various conferences, meetings, and events.
- Support the Event Managers in day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and documentation.
- Help prepare event materials, including signage, delegate packs, and presentation setups.
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., catering, AV, facilities) to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Provide on-site support during events, including registration, guest assistance, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct research on venues, suppliers, and event trends to inform future planning.
- Maintain accurate event records and contribute to post-event evaluations.
- Assist with venue tours and client presentations as required.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Events Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer or work experience in an event-related role.
- Understanding of event planning software or CRM systems.
- Knowledge of local event venues and suppliers in Melbourne.
- A valid Victorian Driver's License.
