Job Description

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Heavy Haulage Drivers specializing in Oversize Loads to join our dynamic team in Fremantle, Western Australia. This is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of large, heavy, and complex freight across various terrains and distances. Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy haulage prime movers and specialist trailers (e.g., steerable platforms, multi-axle trailers) to transport oversize and overweight loads.
• Ensure strict compliance with all road transport laws, safety regulations, and company policies, particularly concerning load dimension, weight, and escort requirements.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
• Secure loads effectively using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Liaise with pilot vehicles, escort drivers, and relevant authorities to coordinate safe movement of oversize loads.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including logbooks, permits, and delivery manifests.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service while representing Toll Group.
• Adhere to designated routes and schedules, adapting to unforeseen circumstances with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Required Skills

• Current MC Class Australian Driver's Licence (Multi Combination).
• Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in heavy haulage, specifically with oversize and overweight loads.
• Proven ability to operate specialized heavy transport equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of national and state road transport regulations for oversize/overweight movements.
• Exceptional safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often in challenging conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude for minor roadside adjustments/troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., fatigue management, load restraint).
• Experience with specific types of oversize loads (e.g., mining equipment, modular buildings).
• First Aid Certificate.
• Experience working with GPS and telematics systems.
